Queniborough is known for its beautiful 13th-century St. Mary’s Church and picturesque village green. The village offers charming cottages, local shops, and cozy pubs, creating a warm and inviting community atmosphere. The pretty old part of the village is centred around Main Street and leads along until the end of the village spills out into the countryside. Pick up an award winning pork pie from local butcher Clarkes of Queniborough, whilst taking in the scenery of this charming village. Queniborough is a short distance from the bustling little town of Syston, which has a range of national and independent stores and shops.

Rothley boasts two greens, Cross Green and the Town Green, the village has been inhabited since Saxon times, as evidenced by the ancient Saxon cross in the church graveyard in the village. It is mentioned in the Domesday Book. In the Middle Ages, Rothley was home to a manor of the Knights Templar, known as Rothley Temple, but now the Rothley Court Hotel, which passed to the Babington family after the dissolution of the monasteries in the 16th century. The knights Templar Chapel forms part of the hotel estate. In 1899, Rothley railway station was opened on the Great Central Railway, which is now part of the Great Central Steam Railway.
